Hand-Crafted Journals

If I’m not busy writing, I am finding other ways to busy my restless hands. Crafting with wood and paper, leather and fabric, is one of these avenues. I’ve found not that there is a shortage of journals, but rather time to fill them. And though there is no shortage of cheap and expensive journals alike, I still wanted to put my own work into the fray.

Enter Starling Harbor. So far, I’ve made two. I will be making more as time allows, and eventually I will sell them, because of that time shortage we talked about. Each one of them is 112 pages, which would take almost a year for someone to fill, writing on one face per day. I personally write an average of three or four faces per day – but I still have new journals sitting in my refill box, waiting to be penned in for the first time.

Other artistic endeavors will appear on this site as I journey into fulfilling my craving for the craft of crafting.

Each journal has a hidden NFC tag embedded in the cover. These can be programmed by the owner using a free app called NFC tools. This tag can automatically open a URL, download a contact card or open an email when someone taps their phone against it.
